Stop me if you’ve heard this one: The Federal Bureau of Investigation does not have enough linguists, intelligence analysts, computer experts or internal communication systems to handle an expanding and growing threat from terrorist groups.
That was the conclusion of the 9/11 Commission report in 2004, and it is the conclusion of a new report commissioned by Congress and issued today by a group headed by former Attorney General Edwin Meese, former Congressman Tim Roemer and Bruce Hoffman, a counterterrorism expert at Georgetown University.
